MyHackerTech Is Heading to DEF CON 34 in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is about to get root access.

From August 6–9, 2026, hackers, cybersecurity professionals, researchers, developers, builders, and open-source contributors will gather at the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall for DEF CON 34

MyHackerTech is proud to support the OS Community at DEF CON 34 as its official merchandise partner, helping celebrate open-source operating systems and the developers, contributors, and communities behind them.

Led in part by Giulia M. Stabile, Director at Parrot Security OS, the OS Community gathers developers, security researchers, project maintainers, contributors, and operating-system enthusiasts from a variety of open-source communities. Hosted within one of the world’s most prominent hacker conferences, the initiative returns after its strong launch at DEF CON 33 with a larger footprint, more participating projects, and an expanded schedule of expert talks, practical workshops, live demonstrations, and interactive learning sessions.

More Than a Cybersecurity Conference

DEF CON is where cybersecurity moves beyond presentations and becomes something you can experience.

It is a place to explore new security research, meet the people developing the tools we use, participate in technical challenges, exchange ideas, and learn directly from members of the global hacker community.

For MyHackerTech, this is more than another technology event. It represents the culture behind our brand:

Build. Break. Learn. Repeat.

The OS Community Returns

The OS Community will return to DEF CON in 2026 with an expanded program covering open-source operating systems and the people who build them.

The community space is expected to bring together developers, hackers, maintainers, contributors, and security enthusiasts through technical talks, workshops, demonstrations, hands-on sessions, and a CTF.

Open-source software plays a major role in cybersecurity. It gives security professionals the ability to inspect systems, modify tools, share knowledge, and build solutions without being locked into one vendor or platform.

Projects and communities represented during previous editions have included Parrot OS, Athena OS, Red Hat, and other open-source initiatives.

Celebrating Hacker Culture

MyHackerTech was created for people who see hacking as more than sitting behind a terminal.

It is a culture built around:

  • Curiosity and continuous learning
  • Creative problem-solving
  • Cybersecurity education
  • Open-source technology
  • Breaking systems to understand them
  • Building stronger and more secure technology

At DEF CON 34, these communities come together under one roof.

Whether you are an experienced penetration tester, a blue-team defender, a Linux user, an aspiring cybersecurity professional, or simply someone fascinated by how technology works, DEF CON offers a place to learn and connect.
