• These devices suffered from several drawbacks: The "Flower Pot" has a level of accuracy that is not up to the extremely important task of setting ignition timing. (no more tapping and hoping that it's working!!). The pendulums frequently become inaccurate due to friction. Frustration with rubber bands that are difficult to adapt to 3-blade props, long spinners, and quickly break. The need to remount the spinner at an inconvenient time during an inspection just so magneto timing can be performed. Aluminum construction that can scratch the spinner if not careful.
